Just What Is The .PRV File? FILE: AP.HLP
The PRV file is an ASCII collection of values that is used to give
you a quick indicator of how a current period compares to a
previous. If this file is not available, DBK does not print the
comparitive values.
At the end of each summary period, DBK will ask if you want the .PRV
file to be written. If you answer Yes, certain summary totals will
be stored in a .PRV file that will then be read for each subsequent
period summary. These .PRV values will be printed underneath the
totals for the current period so the variance can be easily
obtained. With this, you should know immediately whether or not
your game is going in the right direction.
This type of information is also important if you are trying to
determine the efficiency of a changed swing, new grip, stance, club
etc.
Any period summary can be used for the .PRV values. You could for
example combine all previous months .GLF (result) files to represent
the entire season. Then, your current report would reflect
current vs. year-to-date.
If you just keep season stats, rather than month to month, the .PRV
file could be the previous seasons performance.
